Sweets and Hot Sauce is actually a romance novel with some mystery elements thrown in, though it does have several recipes thrown in, including the eponymous dessert that does play a crucial role in the story.

They used that spooky symbol language and the artists is not shy about flipping ponies to save work so I wouldn't be surprised if it's read right to left but I fixed it anyway.
