I love this art, but I thought the episode itself was a bit... meh.

Nice episode, but a very rushed ending. Instead of singing, Spike should have just explained why he trusts Thorax in a few sentences. That would have left time for everyone to talk about it and ask some questions instead of instantly accepting Thorax just because Spike sang a song.

I will give this episode points, it didn't go the route I expected it to go and it didn't really flandirise neither Shining Armor nor Cadance.

I enjoyed this episode, though the ending was quite rushed. I can't help but feel proud of Spike, not only have bridged a gap between Dragons and Equestrians, but he has also brought a changeling into the zone. Thorax is adorable and has a lot of character for someone who just appeared. As a bonus (someone else said this on EQD) this episode was handled in a way that no one in the fandom can complain about their fanfics or the like being "ruined". I honestly could care less about that, but I do enjoy that the changelings have returned.
Lastly, I just want to say one more thing about Thorax... HUG THAT BUG!!

Technically spike has sang three times. He sang a part where Twilight sings about not being repared for a test in the first eps about the Crystal Empire, he sang a song in the mlp christmas album too. Spike's song in this episode was pretty good too.
