Description Okay, not the most elaborate tutorial in the world. And my tutorial isn't for a program...but where is this supposed to go then? Anyhow, I was asked how I do wings, and here's my system. Usually just three feather sections, staggered feather size, and then you round off the ends and erase the unnecessary.

My method and I'm still improving on it myself. Sorry if I'm of little help. I never claimed to be a teacher. lol

What's up with the doofy little dude in the corner you ask? I have no idea.
And I did this in about 5 minutes, sorry if it doesn't look the greatest.

neat method first ive seen like it, but u might consider not attaching them to the shoulder blade since that wouldnt work right if it were on an actual creature

the tutorial was just more for the wing design, having them that small on something is just for looks anyways, right? (not that that seems to stop anyone) when I attach them to something nowadays the base is usually the length of the torso and the wingspan is supposed to be double the whatever's size. But if I knew better how to draw the musculature for wings and had spent more time on this, hey, would've added it. Thanks for commenting.

Good tutorial. I gave it a go myself, it ended out fairly well. Luckily I fell upon this deviation otherwise I dont think I'd get the hang of it. Good job.

No prob. Glad I could be of at least some help. And thanks for the fav. Stopped by your page....you're from MN too. Weird, not many deviants from Minnesota. Get out of my state.

now I see it! very cool. I draw my wings pretty much the same way but once I have the layout ready I randomly slap feathers on it

It's a useful system for some, I'm betting. Just not everybody. lol And to think, I never even used to draw feathers at all.

I was never one for feathers myself, eventually I got into it and found a few things for referance
