Description
I just got a new watercolor set and have started trying to master its mysterious ways. I began with making a paper full of flames. It looked okay, but was rather dull. I noticed I had left a blue-ish spot in the middle which looked sort of like a dark and ominous demon coming out of the flames (if you squinted). I could feel a story coming on so I took up the brush once more and started trying to make it vaguely human. In short, it didn't work at all. So I tried to make it look like a bigger version of what it started as. That didn't work either. So then I tried to make it look like some weird lotus-thing with skinny petals. That worked (sort of), but I still wasn't satified. *sigh* So I got some green while the blue was still wet and played with that for a while. That made it okay... ish. I got some purple and started to try to put in some shadowing... and somehow it turned into a massive phoenix-like blob. Yes, that's right... it's supposed to vaguely resemble a pheonix.... sort of... ish. Expect more of this terrifyingly bad watery-blobish-ness to come.Enjoy,
Katie

ROFLMAO! It has no place in my deviation gallery. This shows about as much talent as a five-year-olds finger painting. There's a reason it's part of my watery misadventure series; it sucks. There's no intention, the lines are wobbly, it's totally out of balance, and it's simply weak.

I really like it, and don't know why it's in scraps. It's good!

Hah hah hah. Well... for a while I tried to make it a lotus... "That didn't work either. So then I tried to make it look like some weird lotus-thing with skinny petals. That worked (sort of), but I still wasn't satified..." It's rather like looking at ink-blots.

You know, I actually really like this piece because it reminds me of the japanese lotuses I had (for a while). The art looks like it was angled near the stem, which would explain the green at the bottom, while the graceful petals of the flower slowly open.
Perhaps if you had a bigger paper, the drawing would spread, showing the whole flower just blooming.
