There it iiis D:I took note how long this actually took me.
Sketch: 30 minutes
Sketch into lineart drawing: 1 hour
Preparations: 40 minutes
Background: 30 minutes
Foreground: 3 hours and 15 minutes
All together it took me 5 hours and 55 minutes to finish this rather small (6.7" x 9.45") piece.
Watercolors.
ps: My scanner pretty much screwed the colors and alot of the smaller shading. :< awww...

Awesome expressions! I feel that the cropping is a little bit too tight, which makes the scene a little awkward -- are they flying? On the ground? In any case, the colours and shading are really lovely, too!

did you put tape over where you want the lightning?
and don't worry too much about minor details, there is still plenty there to make up and still make it ferocious. looks like there is going to be a nasty battle and a LOT of carnage after. 0.o
