My entry for the =PortraitPencilArt ID contest. (I won it!!!)I had this idea a while ago (before the contest), but never really started it...until this morning. I picked a random picture of an eye that I had saved in my computer as a little reference for proportion and position of the eye, and then I made up the rest. I looked better in my mind...but it's ok.

What an awesomely creative idea--and so beautifully executed, too! The hand, reflected in the wet eye, is perfectly "lensed," showing that "wide-angle-lens" effect one sees in this type of reflection on a rounded surface... **wonders how you did that** The curvature, the wetness of the eye surface...it's all just amazing!!

Awesome drawing love the idea any tips on use of charcoal lols. Looks so soft and smooth, while the eye is so wet.

Well, it's not charcoal, it's just pencil...I used very soft pencils to get the darker parts, and then mechanical pencils to get the detail in the iris

Eyes are very special to draw, they're always my fave part when I do a portrait

if and when i do the ocasional portrait, i always enjoy the eyes the most!! but i don't do portraits often, as i have no natural talent for them what-so-ever ^^

this is so...breath taking
I had an idea very similar to this one...but everytime I try The eyes never seem real enough...(I know I need ALOT of work, but..) do you have any pointers?

Well, what I did was to find a pic of an eye with the position I wanted for my drawing, so I could see the details and stuff, and so I could make the eye look real. But sometimes it's not easy to find the pic you want, or even to take it...when I draw eyes I try to work a lot on the iris, adding a lot of contrast between lights and shadows, so it kind of shines, and it looks lively (although this drawing isn't the best example haha)
