I was straight pencil until last year. Now the only pencils I doodle with are colored. Smearing is a thing of the past and you still can't erase so you have to have that ballpoint confidence but with a line with more life to it.

I'm a pen person simply because I don't like the feel of a pencil. I mean, I even prefer to do math homework with pen. But it has its own faults. I feel like the pen's lightest trace is still too visible - a finished sketch with a pen would have too many unnecessary lines that the actual final drawing is watered down amidst a sea of incorrect lines.
I don't see the appeal in marker, though. The lines are way too thick to put in any sort of detail.

Meh, pencil allows you to have an open mind and work subtractive as well as additive.
I mean.. graphite has the superpower of being erased to NOTHING if you draw light enough... Don't you hate drawing for an hour and realizing that one little change would make that huge piece oh so perfect?

I am all about pen. But it has nothing to do with confidence.
I don't care if I get it wrong. Just as long as the idea is communicated.
Also... I HATE the sound of pencil on paper.
Never did my math homework in pencil.
Always got in trouble.
