Steele praises his son, Striker, after he successfully steals a steak from a random dog.

After Tallula rejected him as her mate and took their seven other pups with her when she left him, Steele grew into a much more cruel and cold-hearted individual than he was before, and trained Striker, the only one of his pups that chose to stay with him, to behave the same way. He taught him to pick on weaker dogs, especially half-breeds, and to steal from them whatever they had that they had interest in taking, whether it be food, or even their homes, which they'd sometimes use as shelter.

As he grew, Striker turned into a spitting image of his father, much to Steele's pride and everyone else's disdain.
