the colors are arresting, and the way the man's face seems to lift out of the page... truly awesome

i love this. It's a nice effect with the glow of the yellow wheat on his face. it makes it look magical.
I usually don't like to give a critique that's to fix something or whatever... but the finger holding the wheat looks strange. I don't know if its just how I'm seeing it, but it looks like there is no flesh on his middle finger.
It's fantastic though!
