Description
A holiday card I designed and composited in 2015 for Daniel Clark Creative. It was a team effort with Daniel and Jason Clark, but I did the initial designs and a lot of the compositing, illustration, lighting. Not often a DD even grabs my attention but this really stood out.
Your observation (and subsequent replication) of light and shadow is just spot on, and the way here reflection fades into the space behind the glass.

Not really, we just ended up liking the composition better this way. Originally, it was the other way around, but it was just too much work to flip the lighting and details on the planet by the time we needed to wrap it up.

Must be a pain not being able to even mention them during work.

It definitely was at first and sometimes still is when I get really excited about a particular project. Now, working on 2-4 upcoming feature films at a time, each and every day is just the norm... Which is odd typing that out even now... Thank you!
