Description
This is my card for the Bees Knees Event, a 100 postcards exhibition at AlexiEra Gallery, US. The Event is an awareness and fundraising exhibition for Honey Love, urban bee keepers and activists trying to help the honey bee population.As usual, you can see the whole WIP process on Tumblr and Flickr

I've been Googling "watercolor tools" and am unable to find out what that sharp tool is that you're using.Β Is it a very thin brush or something else?
Also, your Flickr photos show your piece going from a subdued water color look to a very vibrant and saturated appearance.Β Did you simply apply more paint or was it magic?

It's actually a Chinese calligraphy brush and I bought it in Beijing
I just apply more paint on the first watercolor layer.

That looks a bit large for a postcard. Β Or is it you are designing something that will later fit on a postcard?

Allowed artwork size for the Event is 5x7 and 4x6 inches (or standard postcard size inside and outside USA). My illustration - without the white border - is 5x7 inches, a large card actually
