This is a technique I've been working on for some time for puppet animation. It's 100% compatible with parallax scrolling so the shot can move up, down, left, right, forwards and backwards as well as turn left to right as the floor spins or rotates with stationary vignette adding depth and the horizon scrolls. You could even combine the techniques to move forward, down and turn at the same time.
