we humans all are
Why must we feel
so compassionately
about
all the death
and the hurts
that we see?
It hurts to know
that others are hurting
and we grieve
to know
they're lost
to the void
forever
and on
but we know
that in time it will
pass, albeit slowly
Though, no,
that never comes
soon enough
for my pain
and me
