This is Fluttershy, just being best pony.I think from now on, I'll sketch everything on paper, then scan it, then recolor it. It feel more natural ^.^

Well, just don't get cheap wood pencils (like Paper Mate and $1 dozen Dixons), they have crumbly lead and a terrible sharpening experience. I like the Dixon Ticonderoga personally, cheap but decent overall.

You will laugh, But I sketched everything with a 2$ scrap book and a mechanical pencil..
It gave nightmares, but now I got myself a decent kit, so sufferings are over

I used to do that (well actually I used printer paper, but the mechanical same), but then I thought my drawings looked well, mechanical. So I downgraded to a wooden pencil, and now I love my pencil drawings. I still think a ream of copier paper is cheaper than any sketchbook, at least for practicing that is.
