Description
Here it is! My wolf face tutorial. It's extremely simplified and a lot of details have been left out, but I hope it'll help some people out there who struggle with this stuff. Soon I'll create either a journal entry or update the comments section here to add more commentary. But for now, this is good enough.Note: This is more of a tutorial for a semi-realstic style than anything else.
If you notice any spelling or grammar errors, please point them out so I can fix 'em. Thanks!
Hope you enjoy!

Awesome, Nav! I need to parrot existing comments on the white, pointy wolf with the eyebrows, he is the epitome of majesty and I love him. ;O; The Lee Pace of wolves.

What a nice tutorial. Lots of good suggestions.
The only thing that left me confused was the 'whimsical' eye placement?
but other than that, loved these details!

Thank you so much!
Ah yes, I should probably try to explain that better. Basically what I'm saying is that the width between the eyes can be manipulated. The closer they are together (like the chubby wolf on the left) the more innocent or "funny" a character can appear. The further they are apart (like the female wolf next to him) helps them to appear more mature. The grumpy-looking wolf on the far right has eyes that are an average distance apart.
Perhaps I'll go back and fix that part to make more sense. ;D
Thanks so much for your feedback! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial!

this is a really good guide, sadly if you have a -somewhat- realistic style its hard to do many of these things, since wolves in general all look the same in reality. this reminds me of a more disney-ish style with very human like features
also that blonde wolf with huge eyebrows looks like the elven king from lord of the rings!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Naviira In reply to DR00Lz [2016-07-28 23:38:29 +0000 UTC]
Thank you so much! Haha yes, this is definitely more geared towards a "Disney" style and not so much the realistic style that's popular here on DA. I used to work in that style as well.
Haha, it's probably because I intentionally designed him that way! I had just finished watching The Hobbit and wanted to design an elvish looking wolf. xD I'm glad you were able to pick that out.
