That's the english name-- it was originally Yagami Raito in the japanese manga, which I'm very loyal to.

No, the manga says Light, too. Raito is taken out of the Japanese anime with English subtitles because that's what it sounds like. It's Light in everything else. Want proof? Have a Death Note quote!

That is taken from the manga/anime, it wouldn't make sense as Raito.
If I'm right, Raito is Japanese for Light, though, but either way sub, dub, or manga it's always been Light I have only seen it as Raito among the fandom.

I read the Japanese version years and years ago and it said Raito-- it was translated to Light when it came stateside, as far as I know.
