STEP 1: Rough Sketch

Pretty simple really. The only bit where I used a 'skeleton' was with Shanties' head. Everything else i freehanded using reference art. I did it in pencil because it was easier for me. After you get the rough sketch done, take a picture, upload it to your computer, and then put it in whatever software you use (i use Sketchbook Pro).

STEP 2: Digital Outline.

For this one create a new layer and use these three tools. For the outline itself I used an 8.5 sized Felt pen, and to get the lifework perfect, I used both the predictive stroke and the steady stroke. Predictive is great with curves, while steady follows your pen at an adjustable distance. When you're done proceed to delete the layer with the rough sketch.

STEP 3: Coloring

I used the paint bucket tool for the coloring. Pretty basic stuff. This is also the reason that I said to delete the layer with the rough sketch because for some reason it fills up the whole screen. If you wanna make sure the colors are just right you'll need to do this; save your drawing, open up a new one with a picture of Shantae that has the colors you want, use the color picker to choose it, exit out from there, and open back up your drawing. The color you chose with the color picker should still be there.

STEP 4: Shading and Shining

For the shading I used the marker. You can go over the black lines which definitely makes it easy. As for the shine I had to use the eraser because for some reason I couldn't use white for the marker. Zoom in as much as you can when doing shine so you can get it just perfectly without damaging the line work too much
