P.S. if you don't want to draw the tied laces at the top on the combat boots, an actual trick we use is a double overhand knot and then tuck the excess laces and knot under the boot band legging (the puff part at the bottom of our pants). Here's the steps:

And the boot part, you don't have to actually put the band on the boot, you can put it against the sand traps in the pants and roll the excess leggings into the bands, premaking the puff bottom, for faster dressing/taking boots on and off.

Ahh, I probably did the camo in the same way as your Battle Fortress 2 drawing. And multiply is simply the easiest way to color a pencil sketch if you don't feel like inking it haha.
Decided to go with the laces this time since I never drew them before. But yeah, didn't knew about the boot band until your comment. Should implement it later on.

Wait, how did you know I did that?
Yeah, I found a good camo image, then resized it to proper portion then made a sheet across the character of multiple layers, and tried to hide any familiar patterns or edges with covering/rotating or cutting the block smaller and adding to another. Then once done I merge the layers/folder.

Ah, all I did was defining the camo image as a pattern in PS CS5, before filling the whole layer with said pattern, then I applied a layer mask, before painting over the areas where the camo appears.
But the usual and preferred way is doing it by hand with the square brushes and a good amount of time to waste~

Yeah I should get on it soon. Actually I have work on a huge load of characters.
I'm thinking that the next set of characters I should be presenting are the ones of the USMC. Will try to get the whole squadron and maybe some of the cannon fodder characters which will have epic deaths.
Yeah, before I actually I create the characters, I'm already thinking of ways I will have them killed.
