Women are always sexualized and shown in provocative ways for the male gaze. Something as simple as a soda ad will show women in a submissive and often sexual role. If we want to portray ourselves as sexual beings, we are scolded for it. We’re seen as too promiscuous, whoreish, dirty and not to be respected. In this series, we wanted to play with sexuality and how it’s often portrayed. Not from a male gaze this time, but from the perspective of ‘how do I want to be seen? What makes me feel sexy to ME?
