The King’s ears perked, he turned his head, and saw the Prince.
— Yes, Kubwa?
— I-I… I have something to tell you.
The young lion sat beside his father, with a slightly upset face.
— I’m not ready to be King.
— What do you mean, Kubwa?
The King asked, curious. He agreed, and is aware of his coronation in just a few days. Why is he acting like that?
— Dad, I… I was the weakest cub of the Pride, even Uncle Baliyo’s Cub was stronger than me, and he acts like a coward!
The young lion sighed.
— I just don’t think that I’m ready for such a… responsibility, I can’t be King, Father… I’m weak.
Kion sighed.
— Kubwa, don’t let those thoughts destroy you. Me and your mother taught you well, you are ready, no need to worry.
— D-Dad, it’s different, I-
— You are afraid, just like I was. Kubwa. I know you can make it, I believe in you, your sisters believe in you, we all believe in you.
He nuzzled his son.
Kubwa sighed.
— I think that you’re right…
— Why don’t you go get some rest near the dead tree with your sisters? I’m sure they’d like you company. It’d also help to make those thoughts go away.
— Alright… Bye, Dad!
Kubwa walked away, still a little worried. He tried to put those thoughts away for now, and left.
