I wanted to expand Meryl's world a little more with these two characters (at first I wasn't going to do it but these days that I've been inactive have given me an idea).
Name: Caleb
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Personality: Strong and confident. He's fiercely protective of his little sister and will do anything to keep her safe,He's always looking on the bright side and tries to make everything fun for his little sister
Likes: Sports (especially basketball), reading books on history, spending time outdoors, cooking, taking care of his sister.
Dislikes: People who mistreat or neglect children, being late or unprepared, spicy food, loud and crowded places, feeling helpless.

Name: Marina
Age: 11
Gender: Female
Personality: Imaginative, creative, and adventurous. She loves to explore and imagine new worlds, often playing make-believe games inspired by her love for mermaids.
Likes: Mermaids (of course!), collecting seashells, drawing and painting, exploring new places, watching cartoons.
Dislikes: Being alone for long periods of time, thunderstorms, bullies, feeling like she's not being taken seriously, being told she can't do something because she's a girl.

Backstory of the two: Caleb had always been there for his little sister Marina. After their parents passed away in a car accident, he took on the responsibility of raising her with the help of their grandmother. They lived in a small coastal town in the Pacific Northwest called Seabreeze.
Seabreeze was a picturesque town with a charming harbor and a bustling fishing industry. Caleb worked as a fisherman, just like their father had done, and Marina loved nothing more than exploring the rocky shoreline and searching for sea creatures in the tide pools.
Despite the challenges of being a young adult and caring for a child, Caleb had managed to provide for Marina and make sure she was happy and healthy. He had even saved enough money to send her to a good school in town.
But one day, Caleb received some devastating news. His grandmother had passed away, leaving him and Marina alone in the world. He was heartbroken, but he knew that he had to be strong for his little sister.
Caleb continued to work as a fisherman, but he also took on odd jobs in town to make ends meet. He cooked and cleaned for people, mowed lawns, and even helped out at the local grocery store. Marina did her part too, helping out at the school and volunteering at the local animal shelter.
Despite their hard work, times were tough. Caleb worried about how they would make it through the winter. But he refused to give up. He had promised his parents that he would take care of Marina, and he was determined to keep that promise.

How did they meet Meryl??
well...Caleb found her unconscious in the fishing nets on the boat, he was very surprised because of this, he had to call his colleagues and they did their best to wake her up, which scared Meryl a lot and she tried to run away (although she ended up crawling because she couldn't walk) but...Caleb managed to gain her trust by calming her down. Meryl ended up under his and his little sister's care, she started living in their house, Meryl found everything very curious, Marina was very fond of the new guest and always wanted to play with her, how did they know that Meryl was a mermaid then? All I can say is that one day the sea got so rough for some strange reason, Meryl saved Caleb from drowning (he went to work anyway for the pay) revealing her mermaid tail to be an orca mermaid, this took Caleb a long time to process but his little sister was excited to meet a real mermaid.
