Welp. Let this be a lesson to all bullies. You bully someone, you get murdered and stuffed into a suit.

What goes around comes around XD

Springtrap, instead of killing the kids, you've should've killed the bullies :T

It is clear that BOB grew up in a abusive enviorment (while there does exists those who were born psychopaths), though I can't help, but get the feeling that BOB grew up in a narcissistic family. It doesn't have to be so, since abusive families exists everywhere without being narcissists, but through the different dog metaphors used here and there in the comic, as well in the way they were presented, it would make sense.

It's a dark and complicated world of growing up in a narcissistic family, but I'll try to keep this simple for me, to explain what I mean.

In a narcissistic family dynamics is varing and with everchanging and complicated actions or rules to an outsider and for the ones suffering from the narcissistic parent/'s abuse.
First  there's "The Scapegoat"; the neglected and unwanted weakling who can never do anything right in the eyes of the abusive narc parents, the "runt" of the litter, who gets blamed for everything, no matter if it really had happened imagined or not. I used the dog allegory "runt" you had in your comics 'cause as they fits with the world and role the scapegoat gets forced upon in their childhood.

Secondly, if there are more children in a toxic narc family, it's possible there's also "The Golden Child" who in contrast to the scapegoat has absolutely no flaws according to the narc parent (not uncommonly that the misdemeanours the GC does gets blamed on the SG instead) and gets all the attention and "love" to the point of becoming spoiled. Growing up with a GC, the Scapegoat can become very jealous towards the Golden Child. That, of course, leads to friction between the children, which suits the narcissistic parent perfectly as they then pit their children against the other, making them compete for the narc's "love". There again it makes me think of dogfighting where the owner is egging on his two dogs to fight each other.

What's usually, is that other family members, including the Golden Child, can also be encouraged by the narcissistic parent/'s, to either tacitly or subtly, mistreat the Scapegoat. It doesn't have to be a Golden Child in that kind of family for a Scapegoat to exist in a narcissistic enviorment though.
The narcissist will always find someone in their family to project their hate onto, making them feel unwanted and worthless, to and beyond the point that the child grows either up into a dependant victim role, becomes a narcissist themselves, or lash out at the world with all the pent up anger and pain that they had to suffer through. Or the most hopeful part; breaking free from their family, getting help to realise that they have indeed self-worth, and do their best to live a healthy life. While recovering from the ordeal, it isn't an easy road, but it's not impossible.

I could go on and on about this subject, but to wrap this comment up, that you made BOB's family's occupation for raising dogs for dogfighting fits eerily well as a dark metaphor to the toxic hell that people who lived in a narc family had to go through.

You have some really good points, and some of the family dynamics are very close to what I have envisioned for BOB.  And, in fact, it supports a part of his background I have not yet brought to light.  I can't say more about this without major spoilers, drat it.

Psychology is a fascinating subject, one I've done lots of research into, both for my own interests and for specific purposes.  The research I've done for BOB has been very unpleasant, given the horrible person he is and how he came to this miserable state.  But I want to write him as a person, not a cardboard (or pixelated) villain.  Your analyses help me a lot, because I can see if things are coming across clearly and correctly!

Mirage-Epoque In reply to Negaduck9 [2016-07-21 17:49:56 +0000 UTC]

Aww... A small part of me wish you could tell me, or at least in notes, but at the same I'm fine with not knowing the spoilers and instead continuing gathering up the clues and thread as the tale unfolds!

Yeah! I agree it's really interesting how the human can be so complex and at the same time so simple.
I think the characterisation of SpringBOB shows you have taken the information into consideration of how some people like BOB (scary enough, not every killer comes from an abusive enviorment), or similar to him acts or what makes them tic. I agree that some information about what people are capable of doing is horrifying.
I'm happy that my analyses are helpful to you.

LuminaBalderson [2016-05-12 18:27:37 +0000 UTC]

Huh.
The runts were the undesirable smaller ones who always torn apart and/or killed painfully.
And the Murderer/BOB grew up in a family that raised dogs for dogfighting.

I think I can see how those two connect.

Love her but I still call her a runt

PhantomLucein In reply to Yoshifan1219 [2019-05-18 05:53:52 +0000 UTC]

Well, runt doesn't have to be negative. It IS a real descriptive word and not a curse or demoralizing slur. Kind of like what a female dog is actually called and right now I can't say or people will say that I'm cursing! Or bastard, which just means someone born out of wed-lock but is currently also used as a curse or slur word. It just is.

Yoshifan1219 In reply to PhantomLucein [2019-05-18 06:03:02 +0000 UTC]

huh, how ironic that I have a character that I nicknamed "bastard" because he shares my name, and thus can confuse some of the people I talk to. I call him that to differentiate him from me.

I know this may sound a bit off but is it me or is the gravity of the situation beginning to slowly increase as the comic goes on...Springtrap is not being as malicious as he used to be....

Character development is one of my things.  If a character can't grow, it stagnates.

Oh no doubt about it. Just sorta weird if you think about it...how would a murderer act like in this type of situation...granted it would not be of this magnitude but who really knows what goes on the mind of a killer

Runt is a term usually used for animals that have many young at a time. The runt is the smallest and weakest of the newborns. Usually the mothers either don't bother feeding and protecting it or actively try to kill it.
