Description
once moreah yes, there you are,
predictably the agonising night
follows the empty day
once more;
yet again i sit
faced with my unending debate
once more;
i want no sleep
even do i feel no sleep,
but still where is the point
of remaining awake
once more;
if i sit,
if i lie,
if i stand for a thousand hours
if i sleep for a thousand days
you still will not be there
once more.
and so once more,
i return to the bed
vowing not to enjoy sleep,
not to cherish the morning,
not to welcome the possibilities of a new day
till that sleep is next to you
once more;
till that morning finds you at my side
once more;
till those days are spent
in some pursuit that is destined
to reveal at it's culmination
you
once more;
to enjoy with me
my victories
to cry with me
my defeats
to tend with me
my wounds
once more;
but till then,
there you are, yes
my tireless adversary:
emptiness.
come, claim your prize
once more.

melancholy
whispers
across the vast/
she speaks in your
dreams.
silken lips to
your
ear.

I have recently broken out of a long-distance relationship...I know the feeling of being in one. You have done this poem really well.
