Here's a finalized version of Terrastrudon; I know I left the ears off, so just pretend you see ears on it, please?Alright, here I am now. First week of college, and already I'm making freaks o' nature. XD
Ok, so here's the story. Since I'm now in college, I have access to not only the campus library, but also labs and classrooms with interesting things.
For instance...the skull of a deer.
And when I saw this deer skull, I thought it'd be an interesting project to try and modify the skull to see if I could create a fresh new creature.
In the creation of this animal, whom I have decided to name Terrastrudon ursanychus, I have explored many ideas in evolution and natural biology.
The body is a combination of a bear's (torso and legs) and a ground sloth's (tail and claws). I've also tried to include the limb proportions of Stegosaurus - the front legs are much shorter than the back, although they're still just as powerful.
Terrastrudon's role is as a herbivore. It uses its specially modified front teeth to dig in the soil for tubers andother plant roots. However, it lives primarily on top of the ground, not underneath it. Think of it as a bear that eats like a warthog, rooting through the dirt.
