Description
(Before you go off at me)

I'm not kidding. When I was younger, I was very conservative in my thinking. But the reasoning behind it wasn't because it was what I truly believed, but rather because I was willing to sit idly by and let others make up my mind for me. It was just easier that way.

But you know what? I grew up. I asked myself, "What is it that I believe?" And you know what? I found that I did not agree at all with conservative viewpoints, despite being raised in a fairly conservative household.

Now, I'm going to sit back and watch people take this stamp completely out of context, because that's what effect my stamps tend to cause.

Republicans are the party that screams about how government doesn't work, then proves it by getting elected.

I hate this conservative/liberal label in general.

I live in a fairly conservative household, but sometimes I want to throw the good book at a few of them and go "read it AGAIN!"

Do it anyway, and call it "divine intervention".

I was always liberal, but I didn't always know what liberal was. My parents didn't discuss politics with me very much until rather recently when shit started hitting the fan. One is apparently liberal, and the other conservative. (The latter sort of surprised me, as I was raised by same-sex parents)

It really didn't occur to me that people could be racist or sexist or willfully ignorant and be taken seriously. It took me quite a while to realize that Fox News was serious. (It played in hospital waiting rooms a lot. I thought it was a bad comedy show or something.)

Lol! Yeah it's pretty easy to confuse Fox with comedy.

Well, I'm actually not democratic or republican. I'm just on the fence. Each view has pros and cons. Reps like little to no change, if I am correct, and wish for things to stay into order. Demos like to make changes, and things change constantly. I think that there should be some changes, but not too many. I mean, doing something to help homeless and poor people is more important than some SOPA/PIPA/ACTA shit. The United States needs to get their priorities straight. Just saying.

"The United States needs to get their priorities straight. Just saying."

This is so true. The funny thing about this election year is that the focus was supposed to be on recovering the economy apparently - but the problem is, the economy is already improving. So the next logical thing for the prospective candidates is to start jumping on things like sex and contraceptives. It's just a way to get people riled up about non-issues so that they don't have to focus on the real ones and possibly lose a bunch of voters because of their ultra-conservative viewpoints on them.

Laufeyon In reply to Nekromanda [2012-03-11 02:35:37 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. I don't care if the next presidential candidate is black, white, male, female, gay, or straight; as long as they do something to help our country and protect it's citizens, it's all good.

I used to be a republican, but then I took a brain to the head.

I used to be a republican, but then I took a gay to the sexuality. (Not really, just found that one funny.)

I used to be a republican, but then they took a Sarah Palin to the system.

I rest my case.
