Thanks. Their lines are just thinner because they are farther away in the background.
And about those pointy lines, there just isn't an easy and way to do them in Illustrator (that I know of) so right now I'm choosing efficiency over aesthetics. By the way, I doubt that in the game there will be any visible difference between pointy or round lines.

in the comment section: "In order to get the tapered look, I create a custom brush that is pretty much just a wedge. Then I apply it to the line and play around with the stroke width to get the right taper. Then you can βexpand appearanceβ of the line to make it a shape."
But now I'm thinking about it... if you expand the stroke, can't you just remove two joints at the end?

Thanks, but expanding the stroke is the method I used to apply. The problem is, that an expanded line isn't useful anymore, as I can't edit it like a line. So every time I would want to make some changes to it, I had to repeat the progress.
And yes, I already knew that site. It's where I have most of my resource pictures from.

When I first heard of a Paper Mario game release on the 3DS system, I freaked out, because I thought it was a remake of the first game (with all the sprites done in the new style), but then I found out it was the next game in the series (where Mario has a chain chomp partner). I'd still buy the game though.
This also makes me happy, because I think you might have nailed the crisp new cleaner art style of the modern Paper Mario games, applying it to the classic characters.

this looks so cool it would be a remake if nintendo thought about putting it on the wii but what would be even better is if they did it where you can play this game with not just the nunchuck controller but with the classic and gamecube controller as well

I think it's possible to connect the Wii-Mote to a Computer, so generally it would be imaginable that you can play the game with my texture pack and a classic controller.

You can connect a wii remote (or wii remote ripoff) and anything attachment connected to it to the computer via bluetooth. However, you need a program to get it to work and it's a real hassle to work. I instead bought this class controller [pro] to USB connector. I play my PC games with that.
