I saw a lot of people draw comparisons between Anger and Ruby, but not too many comparisons between these two scenes. Also, as a side note, I live in Hawaii, so that zinger about Hawaiian pizza in the movie got me laughing pretty hard.

In almost the same way as fiat currency is, but kind of the opposite.
Understand that economy is about scarcity.
That is the first piece of information that thou critically need to understand.
It is about scarcity and how scarce resources should be used.
It is moral and necessary to put a price on a scarce resource. If it does not have a price it will be depleted.
However it is equally immoral to put a price on a non scarce resource like information or sunlight as it limits peoples access to something that are inherently unlimited.
The next aspect is one of property.
The idea of property, is that of ownership of a scarce resource. It makes sense that scarce resources have owners, as it is a very effective way, (perhaps the only way) to avoid free-loading, and helps ensure that people can enjoy the fruits of their own labour.
Property normally comes in two forms, real estate, which is non transportable,
and objects, which is transportable.
Both of course being both physical and scarce, which as I have said is fundamental for an asset to be subject of economic.
There are four ways property can be acquired.
1) It can be claimed. This applies to any object and piece of land that is unclaimed.
2) It can be bought, which is a voluntary transfer of ownership from one party to another.
3) It can be seized, which is an involuntary transfer of ownership from one party to another.
4) And it can be inherited, which is the transfer of ownership to another on death.
3 and 4 can be problematic but I will leave it, what I want thee to think of, is the absurdity of the concept
"intellectual property"
This so called "third" category of property refers to the ownership of non scarce non objects.
It is impossible to "steal" intellectual property, because it is not a thing, and when one refuse to play by the rules that this so called "property" mandates, one commits "copyright infringement". Even the most diehard proponent cannot make the claim that this is theft.
Just imagine anyone wanting to put a tax on sunlight or oxygen, claiming that they owned the sun or the wind. If they had the backing of a militia they could of course extort money from thee with treat of violence, but it could never be just. As might does not make right.

What I understand is that, no mttter what, if I download it or I buy the DVD, I could potentially be cheating copyright. There is less of chance to do so with the DVD.
