Neo likes Death Note, oh yes indeedy.And of all things she watches the dub. It's a wordy series, so it's nice to enjoy and absorb it your native tongue. The voice acting, I find, has come a long way since back in the day.
After L leaves, I thought I'd hate the two that comes to replace him; Near and Mello. But after watching a few episodes with them, I find I want nothing more than to squish leetle Near <3 He's distant, smart, and he has this sort of hidden sadistic immaturity that makes him fun as a character :>
I can't help but enjoy the complicated rivalry Mello and Near have. XD It's what I dig in a pairing.
Near demands attention over the notebook x8 Mello is baffled.

I watched the series' in Japanese and now I'm following it in English. Surprisingly.. it's NOT ANNOYING.
The series is brilliant, and I know how you feel about L.. :'( I do prefer Mello over Near but I can agree that their dynamic together is AWESOME.

though i must say, that out of all animes that i've watched in the sub and dub version,
deathnote is DEFINITELY the best in sub version!
I don't know what it is, maybe it's just that only 1 out of 10 voice actors fit their character's personality, but the english version simply isn't as 'cool' as the japanese sub...
I know it sounds dumb, but if you watch the sub, you'd see it's the difference between wine and grapejuice xD

I'm not too sure I like the colouring. You used the spray a bit much.
But the shading makes up for it tenfold.

mmph. He's only there for a few moments, but if you read the extra 13'th book, you find out that he was next to become the next L after Mello and Near. He CHOSE to be Mello's lacky.
But his final appearance should make an impression. He's very... interesting. The person lady didn't have much time to develop his character, but the base is there. kind of cocky, sarcastic, introverted. Techie.
