Description I took this on my trip to Calgary. Was a great trip, also a bit adventurous. The trip actually started when I got to the Airport, where I was waiting to board the plane. Had my mask on, carry on ready to go. I heard some folks coughing up a storm. Finally I get on the plane, sit down. From directly behind me, I was hearing someone coughing constantly still. I felt safe because I had my mask or so I thought. The string on the mask broken when I went to readjust it. So the whole plane trip I was nervous and trying not to breath it in.

It's not so much because of COVID, it's the fact that it's my first trip to Calgary. Also I tend to get extremely sick from even a cold, so I would hate to catch covid. I get to the Airport and I had some friends meeting me there. They drove me a round and took me out to an Ethiopian restaurant. Never been to one, so I was shocked that they didn't have utensils. When we were ordering food, I had no clue what any of the stuff was, so I let my friends decide. I will say, the food choices was great, but spicy as heck. Funny enough, they offered an even spicier sauce to go with the food.

After dinner, they took me to my hotel, where I signed in. I was only staying for 5 days, I had a conference I was attending in the city for three days, but I decided to stay an extra 2. After I got all settled in, I was wanting a coffee. As much as I enjoy the hotel's coffee, I wanted the Canadian go to, Tim Hortons. I asked the receptionist if there was a Tim Hortons near by, they told me there was. Then they told me that I should be cautious at night in Downtown Calgary. I figured the Tim Hortons wasn't that far away, so I could just walk there. As I was, a person stopped me, asked if I had a light or a cigarette, I said sorry, I don't. He then proceeded to ask for my wallet. I haven't ran that fast for a long time, considering I got a bad right knee. I get to Tim Hortons, got my coffee and just like the Torch bearer for the Olympics, I held my coffee in my one hand and ran back to my hotel room.

The next couple of days was uneventful. However, the day before I left, I decided to go check out IKEA for about an hour or two. Then it turned into 4 hours, because I couldn't find my way out. It was like a maze in there and it turns out, I kept passing the exit. It was almost like an optical illusion and there wasn't a clear path to it. After that, I went and met up with another person. We walked around the park for a bit, then had dinner. As we were walking down this one path, a car was coming down the walking path. I didn't see it, but the other person did and pulled me away. After that, we parted ways. After I noticed my knee was hurting, so I called for a taxi and asked them to take me to a place for a massage. Now here's a life tip: Be sure to be specific and clear as to what kind your looking for. I wasn't and the first Massage place we went to, said Massage on the side. I figured it was safe to go in. So I said thanks to the Taxi Driver, went inside...then exited almost instantly, after realizing what kind it was. Then I had to go back inside to get another taxi. I decided to just go back to my hotel room.

On the day I was to leave, I decided to go visit a few other stores. I had time to kill since my plane didn't depart until later that night. So I visited the downtown mall they had, where I got lost again inside. Although I didn't mind, because I got to view the entire thing pretty much. They had a really nice Atrium area and an interesting food court. It was narrow though and almost every building was connected by a bridge. Moving on, I get to the airport and began boarding the plane. Once on I realized the seat I chose, was near the exit. The remainder of my plane trip back home, was just me trying to make sure not to hit the door.

Over all, it was a good trip. Some good points, some not so good and some pretty weird.
