That's awe-inspiring work on the characters, the mood, the effects... stormy clouds, splattering rain, solemn tears... It's just too poignant to take in all at once. I even like that Phoebe is wearing her hair in Helga's style (less the bow) as a tribute.

I thing her dad had been abusing her step mom for years. This is why she was always drunk. I think hes fits of blind rage were getting worse and Helga walked in on him beating the hell out of his wife. Helga probably tried to stop him and he turned on her a beet her savagely. He might have thought she was dead and dumped her and his wife’s bodies in the park. I’m guessing Arnold and maybe Jerald might have run across them. Helga was still alive but dyeing of internal bleeding. Will Jerald went to get help Arnold probably tried as best he could to save her but it was already too late.
