‘A Study of Charles’ Face, number 2.’

Another edit to illustrate that old bunny: Erik, the struggling artist, making multiple sketches in oils, ink and pastel of his muse (and patron), Charles, which become more and more messianic the deeper Erik falls in love.

This one’s even more religious looking than the first -- I'm thinking Erik gets commissioned to paint The Crucifixion in a Renaissance style (you know chiaroscuro and all that), so he gets Charles to stand in as his model for Christ and doesn't tell Charles what it's for until the final, breath-taking painting is unveiled! ^_^
