Okay so here’s the deal with Archer and Dawn (Rosie’s parents). They’re based on Beatrice Horseman and Clay Puppington and if that isn’t an indication of how messed up these two are I don’t know what is. They’re children are messed up in different and unique ways. Archer Jr is the golden child and lacks the ability to understand why his wife, children and employees won’t do what he wants when he wants it. Poppy was the scapegoat being blamed for all of the wrong doings of her brother leaving her desperate for attention from her parents. Violet was ignored a lot as a child and the only undivided attention she ever got from her parents was being lectured for getting pregnant out of wedlock and marrying her off to the father of her child. Barker was set up to be a back up in case something happened to Junior but when he came out as a teen all of that went away. Rosie had a stubborn sense of justice but was so sheltered she didn’t know how to channel that energy. She’s the baby that split the family and the one that got (most) her generation to talk to each other again.
