Matilda was side project that Gyro Gearloose and Fenton Crackshell Cabera made behind Scrooge's back. It took them months to create a robot that looked innocent and trustworthy. They wanted a robot to look like part of the family not some metal junk.

↬ Day of annoucement/introducing M.A.T.I.L.D.A↫
Upon introducing Scrooge and the kids to Matilda, the men explain Matilda's goal for creatingin her. To help everyone's life. Basically, you could say a slave (sort of like the robot maid from The Jetson, but does way more than that). Matilda main purpose is to serve and help man-er duckkind thrive.As her name stood for Mechanical Android To Increase Life Daily Activities.

Scrooge wanted to scrap her due to the fact M.AT.I.L.D.A will make life too easy with her superior knowledge of well- basically everything and no one will be working and earning things like he did..but the kids. They loved her. A real life looking robot is cool to see. They find her so interesting. They ‘stole’ her just ask questions, though she answered them but it felt less exciting since well, she sounded like a robot, no emotion no nothing.
The kids didn’t like this. If this robot was going to help everyone, she needed to sound like she has some emotions with her voice. Ava, being a horrible choice for this, decided to test her magic out. Trying to change to robot’s voice sound like it has emotions.
However, instead of giving her a voice that made it sound like she has living emotions, Ava gave M.A.T.I.L.D.A actual emotions! With getting emotions she got curious and overly excited wanted to try and test everything out. Facts can give you so much but experience is what gives you the real answers!
Lets say after that Scrooge couldn’t scrap her, but instead told Gyro and Fenton not to make any others. With Matilda robot life with emotion didn’t say in lab like she used to but ended up in Fenton’s home, as she claimed she dislike living in the lab and Gyro did not want to take her home (more or less in case she turns evil).

◇Matilda has a desire to connect with water but has to admire from afar.
◇Matilda is fully head over heels in love with Ash De Spell
◇This girl thought that to get to Ash’s heart was to turn mortal, so she asked Elena and Ava to make her mortal. However this did not win Ash’s affections.
◇Matilda may know everything but the reason of curiosity is because exploring, experience is what makes something understandable not facts.
◇Matilda is thankful for her emotions but at times wish she didn’t have them since some emotions are worse than others.
◇The girl tries to be cheerful no matter what.
◇Since Matilda was a robot to help others out, Matilda can speak many languages some are: English, French, Chinese, Spanish, Greek, Italian, Hindustani, Arabic, Hungarian,German, and Russian.

◇For a long time Matilda wonder what Ariel has that she doesn’t. Reason being is because Ash has a major crush on Ariel.
◇Matilda doesn’t have the heart to tell others when they are wrong about a fact. The only time she really does is when she’s low on power or in an angry mood.
