There is just too much cuteness here . . . Oh my goodness . . .
I know that this was submitted in September so the kitty is probably grown up by now. They grow up so fast 
I'd give a critique but I feel as though I do not have enough to offer, so I will just point out a few problems:
The image is a bit blurry. I can understand why, as it is often difficult to get a clear shot of anything, and here it looks like you did this one-handed, so I would recommend finding a mounting position if you try another one-handed shot again.
That kitten is so adorable and so fluffy, but I feel as though he is also a little blurry. I feel like your setting may have thought that the dog was your main focus, so the kitten is a little out of focus.
Now some suggestions:
The image, I feel, would look a bit better with a brighter light. Try re-taking the shot earlier in the day and play around with the angles. I really want to see the colors pop!
I can see that there are a few specks on top of the dog's head. Whether that's debris or freckles I don't know, but if it is debris, try brushing it off before another picture. I'm sure your dog would enjoy a nice gentle brushing as well.
Now what I like:
That kitten is adorable beyond words. I know I said that the image was a bit blurry, but I can still make out the fine details of the fur, the teeny-tiny claws, his scrunchy face, just every detail I'd want to see.
That dog is very beautiful, and, as with the kitten, I can see all the details in the fur and nose.
The expression on the dog's face is unbelievable. It is very, very difficult to train a dog to make faces, nearly impossible, but the look that would be most appropriate on a shot such as this is on that dog's face, and from what I can gather, it made that face on its own without any instruction. That face of curiosity, wonder, and care is just remarkable, and that face alone is what makes this a good composition right from the start.
