Description
This is the uncollaborative part of a collaboration between drahomira [link] , and I. I drew the original dragon as a vector image (included in the download) and sent that to drahomira. Unfortunately I really liked it, so I made my own image with it. We ended up agreeing to post both images, they give you interesting look at how divergent the use of a single base image can be.Keep in mind, that neither of us saw the other's result until they were completed, well, actually drahomira hasn't seen this one yet

Interesting. Contemporary style of the grunge and the lines meets the sort of old style feel of the dragon. The composition leaves a bit to be desired, as it is a bit unbalanced on the left, but otherwise a solid work. Nice job.

Nice: living calligraphy. I worked with a woman named Cynthia Moku on a Tibetan Buddhist temple called the Great Stupa of Dharmakaya. She had one piece of calligraphy in particular that radiated tremendously with the energy of the moment in which she brushed it. It is truly incredible to see. I think sometimes we forget what the dragon represents. We see a picture of a dragon in the clouds and we think, oh, what a nice mythical animal. Its not that some mythical animal is in the clouds, the dragon IS the clouds, the patterns of energy that flow through the cosmos. The dragon is the sea. It is the shifting forms of the earth. It is the mark left behind by the brush of an enlightened teacher. The symbol gives us a way to connect with the elements around us; a way to make a genuine and penetrating connection with the world. You've made a beautiful, radiant symbol. Cheers.
