I scan in papers, and lay them over my work once in photoshop, so after I work with it a bit, it comes out looking very natural, and paper-like.

I very well understood that your wolves were made with your style but I think that you still need to practice for the anatomy especially for the legs... There are bases to be respected in anatomy whatever is the style of the artist

Your use of textures is amazing! I have one question, do you add shading or is that how it looks from the texture?

Thank you! It's mostly my way of shading. I layer and layer and layer different tones and different levels of opacity, then, at the end, I apply a paper texture to it. Paper textures are easy to make, too! Just abuse a piuece of paper (spill paint on it, coffee, crinkle it, then scan and use) That's the most i can say without explaining my whole entire process.

Well that would explain why when I use textures it looks like poo, I don't bother with shading. oops haha.

oooh, yeah, I used to make the same mistake acouple years ago, when I first started developing a style. You can't be lazy and let the textures hog all the woek, however tempting that is! 
ALWAYS think of textures as ADDED effects, the whole piece shouldn't depend on the textures; the textures should should bring out and sharpen what's already great about the foundation of shading and highlights.

I hate shading most of the time because I'm terrible at it. XD I understand the light source and everything, but I have a hard time drawing multidimensional cause I'm stuck in 2D lol. Thank you for the help! ;w;

The internet was against me commenting on this. House internet was down, so I tried on my phone. Then phone internet was like "lolno comment NOT posted successfully," then house internet started working again. LET'S TRY AGAIN.
So. I think I was able to isolate what my favorite thing about your art is. Besides that fact that it's totally awesome. But I think it's that you manage to blend the cleanness of digital art with a style that looks impressively traditional (the hills, in particular, are reminiscent of a watercolor painting, I believe). Crisp, but with a human touch.
Also, I love the colors on this! They're mostly soft and unsaturated, but then the butterflies are like, "BAM WE'RE SUPER BRIGHT BLUE." Lovely contrast!

I'm so glad you feel that way about my work,
because that's exactly what I always try my hardest to do! The reason I dropped traditional watercolors in favor of digital is because I can still get that more organic look without sacrificing the cleaner, more polished look that you can get with digital mediums. It took a while to figure our to make it work, but I'm so happy it's paying off!
PS- I'm still playing around with sketches for your commission! When I finally finish a complete sketch, I can upload a WIP if you like! Or, would you rather it be a surprise at the end when I finish?
