This is how we do anthropomorphism CLASSY.

I wanted to add "Eksarians" to Royale, the back story is simple- the masters took animals from inhabited planets in the galaxy that were the best candidates for sapient evolution and put them on other planets to allow them to evolve their own way. From Earth they took cats, ravens and dolphins. Ravens became giant death monsters that ruled the skies, intelligent but certainly not sapient. Dolphins already being fairly close to sapient on their home planet became aware of their masters and decided to construct massive underwater shelters with immense heavy armaments to ward off alien ships that may attempt to abduct them (also became known as the first species to create universally distributed pornography, because dolphins are kinky bastards) and cats simply became upright hunters, evolving sapience from their existing pride mentality. Upright evolution came out of necessity to detect native predators on their planet that were more dangerous than themselves. Being that they are mammals with similar bone/muscle structure to humans they are one of the few interstellar species that can actually speak English (though fairly poorly) and I included specifically as the species that helps guide the human champions and trade arms with them in tournaments. There's an ongoing joke throughout the story in which the Eksarians are referred to by many of the main characters as "Ball lickers" and they refer to the main characters as "Scat slingers"- references to their more underdeveloped ancestors.
