"It's a rainbow"--my roommate, on the glyph arcs before they were cut, torn, and burned."No, it's an encephalogram"--me, in retort.
"...."--my roommate.
This didn't turn out quite as well as I'd hoped, but it still works. I think the next upload will be a tutorial about how to improvise a compass if the one you have can't open wide enough to make large arcs. At first, I thought I could just use my Moleskine watercolor books, which are about 8" by 5", but I knew I wanted the arcs to be a little bit wider so the glyphs could be more complex, so I ended up getting a 9x12 watercolor pad. It's only 15 sheets, and more than likely I'll cut them in half so they're more manageable.
Burning the paper was a huge pain, not just because they were smaller sheets, but because it's summer and the wind cannot make up its damn mind about which direction it wants to blow (of course, that's more to do with my doing this in the apartment's breezeway).
