Description
The HMCS Labrador left its dock to start yet another scouting mission. This ship was a coast guard vessel, meaning it was unarmed, but still in the navy. It was to look for people in need of help during a large storm. This storm was foggy, Windy, and Rainy. The captain of the Labrador got a distress message from one of the most dangerous waters around Labrador, he hesitated. He eventually decided to risk it. He turned the ship towards the location, but the timing was terrible. There were explosives in those waters, along with rocks. And those mixed with heavy rain and waves would cause disaster. When the ship was halfway there, a sea mine; which had broken from its chain, hit the side of the ship, detonating instantly. The ship hadn't any watertight compartments, so it just kept on flooding. The captain turned the ship to shore in hopes they could save it. It was then discovered that there was a fire in the engine room and one behind some computers in the bridge. Soon after, the ship struck some rocks, resulting in bow flooding. The ship got beached on these rocks, which caused the stern to spin around, and strike the shore. This dislodged the bow, resulting in it slamming into the shore as well. The ship was now at rest, being battered by waves and burnt by fire. Rescue was not to arrive.
