Mt. Fuji, 12:09 p.m. The Black Knights and Tokyo Mavericks had just taken out the Confederate Enclave’s front assault force, and were in front of the main force defending the Damocles. Both Hawking and Zero gave the order to attack, and the real battle had begun. Gunfire, cannon fire and sounds of melee weapons clashing rang out, as Akatsukis, Burais, Sutherlands and Gloucesters took on the Enclave forces, destroying the enemy Knightmares that were quickly replaced.

Zero: Hawking’s aces have yet to be played… So, we’ll have to bring them out, if we want this plan to work… Xingke, are you ready?
Xingke: Roger that. Medication has been taken, and I’m ready to fight with all I’ve got.
Zero: Tag up with Tohdoh, and punch a hole in the enemy forces. If you’re low on energy, the moment any ace Knightmares arrive, return to refuel.
Xingke: With gusto.

The Shen Hu launched out of the Ikaruga, along with the Zangetsu. The two Knightmares launched their Slash Harkens at several enemy units, slamming them into each other to destroy them, before switching to melee weapons. The Shen Hu used its new spear to cut through the enemy Knightmares, the Zangetsu doing the same with its Brake Sword.

Tohdoh: You’ve gotten better!
Xingke: Thanks! I had to practice, since I was out of commission, after the fight with Bismarck! Shall I do the honors of wiping out the surrounding enemies?
Tohdoh: Do it.

Xingke gave a signal to all allied units, as the Shen Hu began charging the Baryon Cannon in its chest. Once the cannon fired, the blast took out every Knightmare in front of it, the Shen Hu spinning around slowly, to get the rest of the surrounding enemies. Meanwhile, Alpha’s newest Knightmare, the Galahad Alpha, was sent out, firing its heavy assault rifle at the enemy units.

Alpha: Oh, yeah, I’m digging this new body!
Rakshata: Be aware that the only thing kept from your Vincent body was the Needle Blazers.
Alpha: And, I’ve got Slash Harkens for fingers. The transforming kind.
Rakshata: Correct. Now, lay waste to the enemy!

Alpha obliged, destroying several Knightmares that got in his path. During the intense fighting, some more shots were fired at the Damocles, only to be blocked by the Blaze Luminous. Knowing what Hawking was capable of, Zero needed a plan.

Zero: (thinking) We need to make an opening to attack the Damocles and take the fight to Hawking. If attacks won’t work on it, we’ll have to force the fort to fight us, instead of the other way around. In that case… It’s a risk I’ll have to take. (out loud) Electronic Warfare Sutherlands! EMP wave on the enemy units!

As Zero gave the order, the allied Knightmares sped out of range, confusing the enemy units, who noticed too late that they were getting attacked with EMP waves from all directions. Only a few of the units fell to the ground, unable to recover, but those that remained airborne would be hit with homing missiles and shrapnel ball bearings, destroying the entire force with the weapons and the explosions of the defeated Knightmares. As expected, Hawking ordered the lost units to be replaced with new ones, charging out from the airships that approached the battlefield, right above Mt. Fuji.

Zero: I learned this one from Narita!

Zero pressed a button on a detonator, and Mt. Fuji suddenly erupted, sending magma and fireballs onto the enemy airships, destroying them with that one move.

Ohgi: Nice! An environmental attack!
Zero: Right, but that’s the only time we can rely on it. I know he’s got a relief force, behind that fort. He still won’t attack, just yet.
Ohgi: What are you planning?
Zero: I’m gambling on him using the F.L.E.I.J.A.s. That Blaze Luminous won’t go away, and I doubt it’s costing much energy.
Ohgi: Damn… I hope you’re right.

As Zero had predicted, more enemy forces came from behind the Damocles, and the fighting resumed. Zero could see that the Damocles was hit by the previous EMP waves, but the Blaze Luminous was unaffected. The fighting lasted a few minutes, as Hawking watched in a dark room aboard the Damocles, holding a detonator in its shape. When he pressed the button, a F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead was sent out.

Zero: Everybody, get back!

All the allied units spread out and got away from the warhead, which detonated in the air, hitting the Enclave forces instead. Zero paid attention to the Damocles, and saw an opening in the shield.

Zero: That’s it! It’s wide open, when it attacks!
Ohgi: We’ve found the Blaze Luminous generator! It’s on the lower side!
Zero: Right! Did you catch that, Alistair!?
Alistair: I see the generator in question.
Zero: Copy that. I’m preparing the Shinkiro to work in tandem with the Lancelot Albion!

Zero left the bridge of the Ikaruga, and launched out in the Shinkiro, in its aircraft form for extra speed. Lelouch took off his mask for the next tactic. On the back of the Shinkiro was what looked like a spear, a F.L.E.I.J.A. Eliminator.

Lelouch: I’ve got to make this work…! With this, I’m going to forge a miracle, again…!

Once again, the Damocles fired a warhead, and Lelouch started calculating the data, quickly. As the bomb drew closer, the Lancelot was next to the Shinkiro, and the input of data was complete, the Eliminator ready.

Lelouch: Now, Suzaku!
Suzaku: Yes, Zero!

Suzaku’s Geass command from Lelouch telling him to live, back on Shikine Island, had activated, once again, the Lancelot grabbing the Eliminator and throwing it at the bomb. At the same time, the Masakado and Michizane fired their sniper weapons, greatly damaging the Damocles’ Blaze Luminous Generator. The Eliminator made contact with the blast the bomb had made, then a distortion made it glow black for a moment, and the explosion dissipated. The Shinkiro transformed, and prepared its Phase-Transition cannon.

Lelouch: All-out attack!

At Lelouch’s command, every ship and Knightmare with weapons that could attack all enemies at once fired said weapons, the Yatagarasu charging up its Hadron Gatling Cannons.

Nunnally: Aim at the Damocles! We’re making an opening to destroy it from the inside-out! And...FIRE!

The Hadron Gatling Cannons commenced bombardment, hitting the Damocles with rapid heavy energy shots, as well as the other attacks taking out the majority of Hawking forces, and causing smoke to appear around the fortress.
