Description Hello again, watchers and watcherettes...

This is an odd bit from me. Not because it is Warhammer 40,000 related, but because of the races involved in this terrible slaughter aboard a dying Dark Eldar ship.
I usually get a lot of commissions involving Imperial forces, so when this challenge came along, I was glad that I'd be stepping out of my comfort zone.
I've drawn Dark Eldar before, but I've never drawn many troops or an Archon himself, nor one of their ships' architecture. And, for that matter, I've never drawn many Traitor Marines either or Daemons from the Warp harvesting the souls of the living.

Thus, you get this piece, which is packed full of details, many of them mentioned above. I personally love the way it's turned out, considering my inexperience with these type of races. I'm particularly fond of the ship's brooding, Clive Barker-esque atmosphere, contrasted by the brightness of the Slannesh daemons and The Flawless Host Chaos Space Marines. The Daemonettes about to jump onto the Archon to deliver a killing strike.
There's a sense of total mayhem and impending doom as well as a close-up on a Daemon sucking the soul out of an Incubus. Everything part of this setting I'm proud to have produced.

I hope you enjoy this one, as many have asked me if I'd ever render more races in the Dark Millenium; here's your answer.

Let me know what you think, as usual and I hope to see you soon with more updates!

Nic.-

Maybe they absorb and process isolated segments of foreign DNA through mitochondrial RNA which later is exchanged with the nuclear DNA?
It's just one hypothesis, but I don't think we'll get an answer...

Mayhaps we should write a joint letter and poll Jervis Jonson? Make him earn his upkeep for real

If Adept Jonson denies to answer, an Inquisitorial interrogator should depart to further investigate such matters.

I'm not stupid, I know that. Most of them are female is what he says, he plays table top 40k.

And Tyranids are disgusting alien bug monsters that eat skin and bones, I don't think they need male or female.

Orks are plants like in LotR, LOL.

I weren't inferring anything like that, mind. Just visualizing my reaction, is all.
Most Eldar models are male, from my knowledge, though Dark Eldar has something closer to a 50/50 split.

Tyranids still need gene recombination at some point. Unless they do it the bacterial way, or some other utterly alien way, they will need eggs and sperm some point. Genetic recombination, albeit highly driven, is the whole gist with 'Nids.
Now, I have no idea what the 'Nid crypto-zoological reproductive ecology is, but I'd guess the GW based them off hive-living so-called eusocial insects. Like bees. And they have genders.
Basically, I'm talking definitions, not concepts.

Are Orcs plants in LotR? I was under the idea that they were Elves captured, maimed and brainwashed by Morgoth, originally. Then again, Professor Tolkien was hardly consistent with his stories some times.

Ah, sorry. I'll have to correct him, then. For you see, his mind is in the armour of Chaos Marines. LOL.

I don't like to think about mating Tyranids... they're nasty enough as it is but they probably reproduce through some form of asexual breeding with eggs. Liked like a Yoshi.

I have a friend who basically lives off LotR and he said what was in the movie was added and not the actual story of how orcs came to be.

"Everything with breast bulges is female!" Know that mentality. Then again, Wraith Guard are completely asexual in design... Anyway, I won't go Wh40k nerd on you

I don't like to think about mating 'Nids either. But as they have no chest-busters like the Aliens in the movie Alien, well Who knows?

I think the Morgoth creating Orcs from Elves bit was in Silmarillion. It was freaking AGES since I read that, so, yeah. Your friend must know more than me, then.

I don't play 40k so I have to go on what he says. XD

Who knows what goes on in their minds anyway? I bet most of them just wanna kill and eat stuff. Like big creepy alien bug monster beasts think about when to mate. LOL.

Yeah, I don't question him when it comes to LotR, he would tell us stories about what the gods would do. REALLY in-depth, that guy.
