You know, I think it actually looked better in this piece (nicosaba.deviantart.com/art/Va… when the lower half of the painting was darker. It made the piece feel more... oppressive? Not sure if that's the right word or not... it had more physical distinction and presence as a whole while using dark grey lines to signify detail in the black power armor/suit/thing without it being distracting.
Also, I don't think that cropping the image so it divides evenly between her head and the armor was a good choice. It was more interesting when her head covered 1/3 or so of the top and the rest was of the armor, because it forced your eyes to look around more, and there was a feeling of looking up at her, thus implied perspective.
Just my two cents. Take it how you will.
