i don't know how you did it, but you have nailed underwater lighting. all those little patches of light and shadow...it looks fantastic! 

the shading on the whales in the background is beautiful.

Given that I saw this at. . . most of the development stages. It's always interesting to see what kind of details can come out of it, especially in the simplest of things.

Oddly, I really love the textures of the rocks and dirt. Another thing I noticed was the depth you went to with it, given the shading levels in various areas. Very nice. Also love the dance of the kelp along with his hair, gives the whole thing a nice sense of movement.

And the proportions on Dart's body look awesome. Just the construct of the pose is awesomely done, especially in the chest and shoulders.
