Reno-Today a massive train derailment occurred at Sparks yard after a runaway train lost control and hit the first switch. When the train hit the first switch it was doing 120 Mile Per Hour. Track speed is restricted to 15MPH. A Class II hazmat scene had been established after several tank cars carrying Molten Phenol broke open.Thankfully the cars did not catch on fire. A Union Pacific spokesperson has told us that they are working closely with the NTSB and FRA to find out what caused the train to lose control. A theory has surfaced that there was a block in the train airline that controls the trains brakes. One person,a 21 year old conductor,was killed on impact while working on a track next to the runaway train. His name will not be released out of respect for the family.-AP
