Description
This began as a very neat, hard-shell trolley-case, kindly ported and rigged by OoFiloO.www.deviantart.com/oofiloo/art…
This handy prop came in XPS format, is rigged to allow the lid to hinge, included 'contents'...
I loaded trolley-case into XNA/Lara, exported it via 'Modify' menu as .MESH.ASCII, also scene as OBJ+MTL.
Free Noesis ported the MESH.ASCII to FBX. Also, to OBJ. (No MTL...)
After some iteration, I found the FBX imported to Poser at 15000% = 150 x default 100% as two (2) sub-rigs. Position and pose using first, whose body-parts include the opening lid. Model auto-loaded 'Albedo' texture to 'Diffuse' channel. I hand-loaded 'Specular', 'Normal' and 'Displacement' textures. Open lid with *negative* yRotate of LidAnim body-part, here approx -120º.
I found both OBJs imported to similar size as FBX at ~55% default scale. The XNA/Lara OBJ+MTL duly loaded the 'Albedo' to 'Diffuse'. I had to hand-load the Noesis' 'Diffuse'. For both OBJs, I hand-loaded their 'Specular', 'Normal' and 'Displacement' textures. The Noesis-derived OBJ had one material, the XNA/Lara export had two, for case and lid.
After my usual battle with lighting to resolve initially glooomy test-renders, this was Superfly, 96 pixel-samples, progressive, 1024 vols+buckets, using both my ageing GPU cards. Even ~20 pixel-samples gave a fair render, but those many extra really brought out the colours...
I was curious to see what the scaling differences might be between the different porting routes, had some fun, too...
