Description
One week later“Do you understand now?”
“Yeah, I think I do.”
After Amon told Diana about the dream, they both went to see Klaus and he said if they can come by next week for Amon to help Klaus with Rudy. They returned the following week and Klaus told Diana about the meaning behind the dream while Amon helped Rudy.
“So the dream Amon had was a test?”
“Ja, it was test to see if he was man or wolf.”
Diana was sitting on a lawn chair with Klaus right next to her. Klaus was drinking hot chocolate and stared at the woods in his backyard. The woods have been in the Von Kriegs' yard ever since Gerhardt, Amon and Klaus' ancestor built his manor here. Since then, the members of the Von Kriegs have always been drawn to the woods because they believe that the woods were calling them. As for the manor, it was torn down many years ago and became a small house which Klaus and Rudy now lived in. Even though the house wasn’t fancy like the manor, it gave off a warm, homely vibe which they both like.
“So if Amon didn’t show remorse of what he did to me, he is more beast than man?” Diana asked.
“Ja, but he did, which makes him more man than beast.” Klaus replied back as he put his cup down on the table.
“Okay, now I got the whole thing. Your family keeps getting interesting every day when I’m with Amon.” Diana said with a smile on her face and hearing Klaus chuckle at her response.
Ever since Diana decided to give Amon a chance to date her, she became widely fascinated with the Von Krieg family and learned a lot about them, just like how Rudy did. She learned that Adolphus, Gerhardt’s grandson was the one who got cursed as a werewolf and caused all of the Von Kriegs to become werewolves, but only the ones who bear “wolf” in their names, will become a werewolf. Diana also learned that Gerhardt had a brother named Frederick who cursed the Von Krieg family to only bear one child, causing the blood line to dwindle down, leaving Klaus, Inga; Amon’s mother, and Amon to be the only members left also becoming Amon’s destiny to break it. She already knew that Von Kriegs were Lighting Bolts and Darkians, sorcerers of lightning and darkness. Diana also remembered that when a member of the Von Krieg is born and if they have orchid eyes, the child has the power of darkness and lightning. The hair of a Von Krieg is usually brown but if they have the power, a violet streak would come out if they shoot lightning and over time the brown hair would get lighter and lighter and if a member does not have the power, he or she would either become a werewolf or live their lives as humans. Diana learned that all Von Krieg marriages end in death or divorce, which is another thing Amon has to break. There were many things that she learned, but she’ll get used to them.
Diana looked down on her lap and opened a book that Klaus had given her when she first met him. The book was magical and contains every member of the Von Krieg Family and some of the pages were blank until a new member of the family is born then the page of the Von Krieg member would magical appear. She opened the book and turn the pages to stop at the picture of Adalwolfa Hildegard Von Krieg, Klaus’s grandmother. Diana remembered one fact about her, Hildegard had different colored eyes, her right eye was golden color and her left eye was green and people say if they saw one of the eyes glow brightly it indicated what the person’s future would be. If the golden eye glow, the person would have a good future but if the green eye glow, the person would see his or her demise. Hildegard was also the only she wolf of the Von Kriegs. Diana turned two more pages and saw a beautiful young woman with golden hair and a streak of mauve at the tip and lavender eyes. She smiled softly at the picture and could help but noticing that Klaus was looking at the picture as well. The woman in the picture was Elsa Von Krieg, Klaus’s daughter, Inga’s mother, and Amon’s grandmother. Diana heard nothing but good things about Elsa and she can see why. Elsa had a sweet nature even as a child, she’d always calmed her father when he was enraged and made people brave whenever they see Klaus. She was different from the Von Kriegs because she was a Lighter Bearer and a Lightning Bolt, sorceress of light and lightning.
“It’s sad you know.” Klaus said, breaking Diana out of her thoughts.
“Yeah, it really sad.” She said as gave one last look at Elsa and closed the book. She couldn’t help but to hold Klaus’s left hand as he was wiping away some of his tears from his eyes. Klaus had to deal with a parent’s worst nightmare; outliving and burying their child. Elsa died years ago, but Klaus hasn’t got over her death no matter how hard he tries. Elsa was the only person who made him feel human next to Anna, the woman he feel in love with. What seems like a long silence, two howl echoed through the woods. As if on cue, a large yellow wolf with purple tip fur, orchid eyes, and a wolf claw necklace ran out of the woods and sat right next to Diana. Amon couldn’t help but nuzzle Diana’s cheek, which caused her to giggle.
"Did he behave on his first night, Amon?” Klaus asked.
Amon nodded his head and as if it was mentioned, a small wolf came out of the woods and sat right next to Klaus. The wolf looked like Amon only different, it had chestnut brown color with midnight blue tip fur, indigo eyes, and hanging around its neck was an iron cross necklace which belonged to Klaus. The wolf was none other than Rudy. When he was adopted, Rudy wanted to be just like the Von Kriegs. Over time, he developed powers of darkness and energy when he was possessed by Frederick which caused him to have his midnight streak and indigo eyes and like the Von Kriegs, his hair would change but only darker and darker. Rudy still has nightmares about it, but being a strong kid, he managed to fight it off. As for the wolf thing, Rudy had a secret wish that Klaus would tell Amon to give him curse. Klaus warned Rudy about what the consequences of the curse and that there was no turning back. Rudy understood but he would accept it. So that being said and with Klaus’s blessing, Amon bit Rudy in wolf form and Rudy had become a werewolf.
Klaus looked at Rudy and scratched him behind the ears which made Rudy wagged his tail. Diana couldn’t help but to laugh at this scene, Rudy reminded her of a puppy, a big werewolf puppy. She was amazed that Rudy would take full responsibility if he was to be blamed by his descendants, but then again Rudy was a small version of Klaus which made Diana understand why Klaus adopted him because Rudy reminded Klaus of himself when he was young; determined, skilled, and wanting to be loved. As she looked on, Amon nudged her as if he was saying that “pay attention to me.”
Diana looked at him and pet him on the head. It amazed her that unlike the books she read about characters who don’t want to be werewolves; the Von Kriegs accepted the werewolf curse and couldn’t be any happier. Out of all the boys she had dated, none of their families were more fascinating than the Von Kriegs. She felt welcome with them and Klaus and Inga hoped that Amon wouldn’t lose her which he isn’t planning to. As Diana looked at Klaus who was looking on at the woods with Rudy resting at his feet and Amon doing the same thing, she saw something in the woods. Diana saw a yellow light glowing in the distance. Diana, without thinking ran into the wood not hearing Klaus calling her.
