To me, you are lovelier than any bird in this world
Your sweet little song brings joy into my heart
And you will be a lovely piece of art
I keep you in an open cage so you can either leave or stay
And take care of you from becoming someone’s prey
One day, I went to you to find you gone
I looked for you from dusk to dawn
My windows are always open but you never leave me
I always believed that we were meant to be
My heart was forever filled with grief and sorrow
But I will find you in the morrow
I finally found you but what I saw left me heart broken
You were in a closed cage with another bird who said the words I never spoken
I felt a hand on my shoulder and saw the one who caged you

I left that day with a new sense of hope
Instead of sitting at home and mope
I found love one winter in a form of another small bird
