Holy wow. 6 months in the making, 8 comics, thousands of layers, hundreds of hours of work. It was worth it.
I hope you enjoyed this series as much as I have. A few things to note about this comic:
* Some of the panels are drawn, not vectored. This is "Tumblr Practice" as I'm considering starting an ask Tumblr
* Now that you know that Crabapple has loved Willow pretty much since they met, some of the other scenes through the comic should make more sense. For example, why he went almost nuts when Willow and the Princess were unconscious. It wasn't the Princess that drove him mad.
* Does something seem... familiar about the two heart healer ponies under Willow? It should. Think a few comics back... Their cutie marks each have significant meaning as well.
* Maybe you're picking up on a few hints that I'm throwing out there. That Crabapple and Willow founded Ponyville. They did. Remember when Twilight said "Earth ponies founded Ponyville hundreds of years ago"? I believe she meant "Non magical ponies" meaning that having it founded by Earth/Pegasus makes sense which is why they use both to wrap up winter (but not magic). As for Granny Smith's account, let's just pretend that Ponyville was abandoned for some reason and Celestia saw the appropriateness of returning it to the Apple family when they came through.

Gotta say, you did bring quite an awesome stoyr here, despite being so short, it was quite catching, has an awesome narrative & writting and the characters are brillantly worked. Really, really enjoyed this. You did a great job with this "prequel" to the MLP series.

This storyline is intriguing. You've managed some really unique and interesting characters, and given a great expansion into unexplored lore of the show, all while being original (The characters aren't clones of the 'Mane Six', they're characters in their own rights)

This is a fantastic comic and I'm glad you wrote it. I like how the ponies seem to be more magical than in the actual show. Have any of the pony people (the creators) commented on this?

None of the creators have seen or commented on it that I know of. Though I will say that I tried hard to show my characters as being less magical and important the the current set
For instance, I suggested in my reports on the mane six (in my gallery) that Fluttershy is actually far more powerful than Winter Willow, it's just that social anxiety makes her shut that part of her abilities down).

This was...life changing. When i finished i felt something drop on my hand. It was a drop of water. i looked up to see if my roof...then i felt it again, they were tears. silently falling down my face. then it all hit me at once and i cried. I sobbed. saddness, anger, pain , joy. all at once. this is several hours after finishing it and im still tearing up. Thank you for making such a awe-inspiring work of art..like i said, it was....life changing

This story and others done by you have truly touched my heart. It took a lot of strenghth for me not to cry in some sections. Not only is the art beautiful but the story had been entwined with a deeper meaning. I applaude you and your talent. And i hope that you build up on this talent you have proved to us and to keep touching the hearts of thousands. I can also ask for so many others that you continue to create and post comic art and stories so we can expose some emotions that normaly dont show.

Once again, I cannot truthfully express how great these comics are. Once in a while, I stumble upon an MLP deviant and even beyond that it is rare for me to find quality material like this. (Not to say that other people suck; everyone's work contributes to the brony fandom.) There are many reasons why people write, and what I like about this is that it fills the "storytelling" reason. In fact, there's so much writing in these comics that you might even call it fan fiction. But what I think you mastered is allying graphics and literature in a pleasant array.
I felt that even though there was a lot of material to put into eight comics, you were successful in conveying the story and meaning. I want to give extra props to you for the whole foreshadowing with Winter Willow and Crabapple. For an author to create foreshadowing and the audience to actually catch and understand it - that takes skill.
Six months in the making, huh? Six months well spent.

Just read the entire story. Lots of good work here - some of the best OC ponies I've seen, and a lot of them too! The characters, colors, shapes, and story is all very well done. If Hasbro ever decided to move on from the main 6, I would expect something along these lines to replace it. Keep it up!

Ya...some people are worried that the main 6 aren't gonna cut it for much longer. They're probably going to have to delve into background ponies more (not that I'm opposed to that) but I wouldn't be surprised if they made new main characters as well. I think there's a lot to be done still with the G4 style and universe, whether or not they keep the same cast.
Also, I'm rather annoyed I can't edit my previous comment. The fact that I said "is" instead of "are" will bother me to no end >.<

... The Crabapple and Willow part surprised me to say the least, however the surprise felt was definitley not unpleasant
