My family started reading The Hobbit together in preparation for the movie. For Advent/Christmas I gave my Mom, Dad, and brother each a ticket to the movie, but since I had just bought a gift-card to the movie theatre, I made my own tickets. I put a character on each ticket, so these were each separate drawings at first. But I thought they actually fit quite well together to make the scene of the dwarves cleaning us and annoying Bilbo.
Except probably Bilbo should have a worried look on his face. He'd probably still be eating... but he wouldn't look quite so happy about it, haha.

Anyway, this was meant to be fanart of the book (I drew it before I saw the movie). Though I do have to say, when we went to see the movie on Friday I loved it! I didn't much like the excess violence [come on, in the troll scene in the book the dwarves just wandered into the troll's camp and were sacked instantly! They didn't put up a fight, much less the mini battle that was in the movie] and it actually started to bore me and my mom after a while, there was just too much fighting and bashing, you know? Oh well, I suppose books and movies are pretty different and some changes must be made...hmph. But overall, I enjoying it very much. Martin Freeman just made me "awww" all the time; he makes an adorable Bilbo!

Wish it wasn't 3 parts... I can't wait to hear Smaug/Benedict Cumberbatch!!!
