2013 update: After being AWOL for about four years, I came to remove the dust and cobwebs from my gallery - and I think this is still my fave. Loved drawing it, and thanks for all the faves! <3FULL VIEW PLEASE!

Perhaps seven days after using the Death Note, Light gets a nasty shock from his telly.
This is my entry for the Movies theme competition. Ringu. We all love Sadako, and I thought that our little Sugar Guzzler bore more than a passing resemblance to the almighty Sadako, what with the pale skin, white baggy top, scraggy black hair and freaky eyes.
And let's face it. LIGHT DESERVES ALL HE GETS.
Note Ryuk's "mildly intrigued" expression.
I thought for a good while about a relatively good theme I could use that hadn't been done to death!
And - arghh! It took me frickin' HOURS to colour. Usually I skip putting in backgrounds and this is WHY. It's taken me about two and a half days to complete, what with the fiddly little shadow and highlighting jobs - oh, the details - the details!

Back then, me and a guy from college found something on the net that was supposed to be the "real video" that Ringu was inspired from, so we watched it! We were like "OMG WE'RE GONNA DIE!" but... that was around three years ago, so don't worry. XD

He does. The fact that Light was celebrating his WIN! with a slice of (L's) cake, (since Watari is no longer around to guard his larder) the very SCENT of the cake reached L in the afterworld and revived him. Sadako was real nice and let him use her dead>TV conduit.

Yes, I based the teapot on one I actually have, I figured it would be in the haul of crap that Light took for himself from L's things after his death, along with the lifetime-bakery pass (he did take on L's title!)
But little did he know, that L had mighty TV RESURRECTION POWERS.

I can quite clearly see the scene directly following this one - Light regaining his wits, L grabbing the plate... a mighty struggle ensues and ends with L's face landing in the cake. XD

i love it honey! a masterpiece once again, such a rich blend of so many styles with your own mixed in also for a refreshing zing. the shading is exquisite, how the light plays off the table gives an amazing sense of perspective.
I'm especially impressed with the detail on the clothing, very well done! the thing is...is L (as he would be if it were only 7 days into using the death note, as opposed to ryuzaki [sp?] ) is he reaching for the death note...or the cake?
